Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires Now Available Internationally

-

Empire - Battle 1

Bringing a close to their eighth set of numbered instalments in the Dynasty Warriors franchise, Koei Tecmo Games and Australian publisher Mindscape have confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires is now available for purchase on the PlayStation 4,  Xbox One (Both at retail), PlayStation 3 (PlayStation Store) and PC (Steam). This will be the first time since DW6E that an Empires game has been released on an Xbox console.

Different from other releases in the Dynasty Warriors franchise, DW8E delivers many of the usual “Empires” edition features such as the ability to create custom warriors and granting the ability to conquer “Three Kingdoms” China as any Dynasty Warriors character of your choosing or as a figment of your imagination. Additional features have also been introduced, including more detailed customization of warriors, horses and armies; in addition to many other improvements made since DW7E.

While Create-a-Warrior has been improved considerably since Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires was released a couple of years ago, the system is similar enough that players will be able to import their previous custom officers if they owned the original PlayStation 3 edition of the game. This transfer will be handled by the free-to-download Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires Free Alliances Version which will be available at an unspecified date next month. The Free Alliances Version will also allow anyone to sample the DW8E experience in Free or Edit mode, and PlayStation Plus users can even play in Empire Mode or Free Mode online with other players.

My playtesting of this game has just concluded, and a review of Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will be posted up soon.

What They Say About Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires focuses deeply on the chaotic lives of warriors as their fateful decisions affect the rise and fall of the nations in Ancient China as they bravely fight across vast plains, bleak wastelands, narrow ravines and immense castles. Players can select from 83 unique characters, or create their own original character. The visual customization available in Edit Mode goes further with the newly implemented ability to customize horses, banners and “normal” officers.

Warriors must fight against not only enemies but also the forces of nature as the changing seasons bring new elements to the more than 35 battlefields affected by seasons and the passing of time. Additionally, the game’s Custom Scenario mode adds the ability to control what will happen across the vast Chinese continent, allowing players to adjust every last detail to form a brand new Three Kingdoms world.
