Before the Fall (or Patch 2.5) for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is set to bring the MMORPG’s core storyline to a close in preparation for the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy XIV’s first major expansion pack: Heavensward. Hoping to highlight some of the features to be introduced in this upcoming patch, Square Enix have shared the above trailer which showcases some of the new content.
The trailer offers a glimpse at three new dungeons, as well as the final chapter of the Crystal Tower storyline that sees adventurers traveling to the World of Darkness. The video also highlights some of the Manderville Gold Saucer attractions including Chocobo Racing and the Triple Triad Card mini-game – both of which have been sourced from earlier Final Fantasy games. In addition, thhis trailer highlights the ability of adventurers (or rather a full party of players) to test their abilities against the elder primal Odin, and discover what prompted Gilgamesh to return.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Patch 2.5 is set to be published across two instalments, with the first set to hit servers starting January 20th 2015.
