Over the past couple of weeks, ATLUS USA have been promoting the different character classes which will be featured in their upcoming Etrian Odyssey x Mystery Dungeon crossover game dubbed Etrian Mystery Dungeon.
Previously, ATLUS have focused their attention on the two primary physical classes. The first class was “Landsknecht”, which would be considered your traditional fighting class. Characters with this class have the ability to perform devastating attacks against individual foes and perform a respectable amount of damage to multiple enemies with AOE attacks. The second class was the “Protector”, a front-line unit which may not deal as much damage against foes but can hold their own through their high defense stat, tower shield and ability to taught foes into attack them over other party members.
Today the focus has been shifted from physical attack users and onto magic users. Serving as your more traditional “mage” class is the RuneMaster, who have the ability to impale enemies with deadly lances of ice and hurl giant balls of fire at all whom stand in their way. This staff-wielding master of elements is a walking force of nature, throwing out direct damage elemental attacks or summoning powerful AoE spells. Although the Runemaster may be able to deal significant damage against their enemies, their HP is low and cannot last for too long in a dungeon if not properly protected.
Earlier this month, ATLUS USA confirmed that they will be bringing Etrian Mystery Dungeon exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS from April 7th 2015. Unfortunately, no PAL region release date has currently been locked in.
