One of the new additions to Star Citizen’s Arena Commander Version 1.0 is the addition of all Mustang models as flyable ships. Similar to the Aurora, the Mustang is a new starter ship that drops the Jack-of-all-Trades label in return for delivering additional speed and maneuverability. Because of this, it is marketed as the Starter Ship for those who are interested in battle across the stars rather than making money or exploring.
The Starter Ship has been further broken down into four variants: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta – which have an emphasis on being a more traditional starter, light exploration, racing and fighting respectively. All variants can now be pledged for, with prices ranging between $45 and $80 depending on the variant you wish. Cross-Chassis updates are available for those who own an Aurora MR and wish to upgrade to a Mustang Alpha ($0), with upgrades from the Alpha to all other models priced between $10 and $35.
