Mistwalker Share Trailer for Long Lost RPG Cry On

-

When I think of Japanese development studio Mistwalker, I am immediately reminded of their brilliant Xbox 360 RPG’s Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. While they have since moved onto Nintendo consoles and mobile gaming platforms, the company at one stage did have a third Xbox 360 exclusive under their belt, titled ‘Cry On’. This project was unfortunately discontinued in 2008 and never revived.

When a video game is discontinued, you would automatically presume that you will never see anything else about it – especially for a game that was already shrouded in a lot of mystery already. Approximately six years since discontinuing it however, the boss of Mistwalker, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has surprisingly uploaded a preview trailer for the game via his own Youtube channel.

Is this just to showcase the work they did put into ‘Cry On’, or could this be an indication that they may be looking at rebooting the game or concept in some shape or form?
