Koei Tecmo Europe have announced that their upcoming video game Bladestorm: Nightmare will be released in PAL regions beginning March 5th 2015. This “historical Troop Command Action” title will be available at retail on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with an additional digital exclusive to follow on the PlayStation 3.

Similar to Omega Force’s major Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series, Bladestorm takes place during an event known as ‘The Hundred Years War’ which occurred between 1337 and 1453 – a major war between England and France. Revisiting one of the lengthiest and most politically unstable periods in European history, this game allows players to assume command of different kind of army units as part of either England or France.

Koei Tecmo have also confirmed that a second stand-alone mode titled “Nightmare” will be present in Bladestorm: Nightmare, leading players through an original, fictional scenario. In ‘Nightmare’, as the war between England and France wages on, a mysterious battle horde of outlandish creatures appears, led by a seemingly turned-evil Joan of Arc. The army is comprised of Dragons, Giants and Demons of various kinds and infinite numbers and the kingdoms of England and France momentarily cease fire and join forces to drive this evil out of the world. This new mode allows the player to take control of an additional 32 playable characters, based both on fictional and prominent historical figures of the time. With their assistance the player’s character can try and control the demonic armies, restore Joan of Arc to her former self and save the world from evil.

Bladestorm: Nightmare will be handled Down Under by the team at Mindscape.
