In an attempt to ease the wait until their official English release of Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS on October 4th 2014, Nintendo have announced that fans will be able to download a limited-feature / limited-bootup demo of the game from September 20th through the Nintendo eShop.
This demo features five playable characters (Mario, Animal Crossing Villager, Link, Pikachu and Mega Man), one stage (Battlefield) and the ability to compete in local multiplayer matches with fellow 3DS/2DS owners who have also downloaded the demo onto their consoles. The demo is limited to 30 loads from the home screen before it becomes inaccessible.
All fans are encouraged to check their inboxes however, as Nintendo have sent early access demo codes to selected Club Nintendo members. Attached to the email will be four download codes that can be claimed by yourself and up to three friends. While this demo will have no content differences from the September 20th edition, it will allow for unlimited boot-ups.
Those who will only be picking up Super Smash Bros. for Wii U are still left waiting at least another couple of months, as no demo version has been confirmed for the Wii U.
