With the annual F1 racing game from Codemasters set to hit store shelves from October 16th on PC, PS3 and Xbox360 gaming consoles, the developers have chosen to share their first “Hot Lap” look at the gameplay. The hot lap aims to provide fans with their first chance to hear how this year’s release endeavours to improve upon the last, through the power of new “radically different turbocharged cars” that are “brought to life in the game, including the distinctive deeper growl produced by this year’s new power units”.
The 2014 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was run during night-time for the first time this year, and the hot lap video above shows Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari taking on the 15 corner, 10 year-old Bahrain International Circuit – lit up by hundreds of floodlights and the fireworks that sparkle in the sky.
This will possibly be the last time that the F1 video game series will be released on last-generation consoles, with Codmasters making their intentions clear on bringing the series to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms in 2015.
