With many of the hit games from the PlayStation 2, it took years for them to finally receive a HD release on the next generation of video game consoles. Sony Computer Entertainment however are excited enough about The Last of Us by fast-tracking its remastered edition a little more than a year after original launch.

The Last of Us Remastered has today launched on the PlayStation 4 around the world, featuring the highly acclaimed main game, all content contained in the original season pass and a brand new Photo Mode to help players embrace the PS4’s “Share Button” capabilities.

Players can also delve into Ellie’s past in additional single-player chapter Left Behind, challenge themselves with a new difficulty mode and extra multiplayer maps or discover more about the beautifully desolate game world in a behind-the-scenes documentary from the cast and creators.

The Last of Us Remastered is currently on sale for a recommended retail price of $79.95. This is in comparison to the original PlayStation 3 which is not much cheaper without all the bonus goodies.
