Can you believe that it has been almost two years since Square Enix launched their “Twister Remix” countdown website, leading to an almost immediate launch of The World Ends with You: Solo Remix – on iOS devices once the timer ticked down to zero?

When Square Enix usually release consoles on one smartphone/mobile platform, a release on other mobile platforms is not too far behind. Unfortunately for those who only own an Android device, that release never came and was becoming less and less likely to eventuate. Fortunately the odds have turned in their favour, with Square Enix confirming that The World Ends With You: Solo Remix is now available on all Android devices. The game is now available via the Google Play store at a premium price of $17.99.

There doesn’t seem to be any new features over the iOS release, but it is worthwhile checking out if you haven’t already played the original Nintendo DS release. My launch day review of this iOS edition can be found HERE.

A boy named Neku wakes up in a crowded intersection of Shibuya in the heart of Tokyo – alone and unaware of how he got there. Then, he receives a text message: “Clear this mission…or face erasure.” With that, Neku is thrust into a life-or-death game that sends him scrambling down streets paved with one riddle after another.

Want to know something sad through? It has been two years and we have yet to see anything else from this franchise.
