While they may have explicitly avoided calling it a “Harvest Moon” game, XSEED Games have plans to release their own instalment in the Bokujō Monogatari franchise this year on the Nintendo 3DS, whilst regular publisher Natsume work on another instalment in the series.
Building upon the 18-year history of the series, fans should expect to see more of the same farming and relationship systems present in other games. This time around the game introduces the concept of “connectivity”, allowing players to expand their world and open new possibilities through all-new multiplayer and StreetPass features – granting players the ability to tour one another’s farms, cultivate crops together and even exchange gifts.

It’s a small town, but it holds the promise of a new life replete with fulfilling work and meaningful relationships. Arriving at the town, our young protagonist begins to learn farming life from the warm and welcoming townsfolk, picking up new skills each and every day. Growing crops, caring for livestock, developing a farm, exporting crops to other countries and even looking after pets all provide new experiences and breathe new air into a once stagnant life. Can this newcomer make it as a young and inexperienced farmer Can someone who’s just learned the trade grow and give back to a town full of residents who have selflessly imparted such renewed vitality?
