By now, many would know that Microsoft is planning their Japanese launch of the Xbox One this September, approximately ten months after its original release in Western markets. But while the Xbox360 wasn’t particularly known for having as big a Japanese fanbase as its primary competitor (PlayStation 3), this doesn’t mean that Japanese studios aren’t deciding to support it.
During a NicoNico broadcast earlier today, 5pb and MAGES announced three upcoming Xbox One releases. The first (trailer above) is a video game adaptation of the 2012/2013 noitaminA anime series PSYCHO-PASS.
The second is an adventure game Mystereet F which is based on the original game by Hiroyuki Kanno.
Finally there is the console release of Chaos;Child, the fourth major instalment in 5pb’s science adventure series which comprises of Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes and several associated spin-off’s.
While all three games have been announced for the Xbox One, this may not necessarily indicate exclusivity. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them supporting the PlayStation 4 with some or possibly all of these games. But at the very least, the Xbox One is region-free meaning that unlike the Xbox360, you should be able to import all three titles to play on your Xbox One console.
