For those who are familiar with RPG Maker VX Ace, you will already be aware that the RPG development kit comes with a basic ‘Character Generator’ tool which allows you to generate male and female faces and character sprites for use in your games.
But for those looking at having a bit more control over the design of their character sprites, Degica have announced that a new software tool known as ‘Game Development Hub’ is now available via Steam for $14.99 USD (Currently on sale for $9.74 USD until May 31st, 2014). This is a tool which gives you greater control over 2D artwork designs for your RPG’s with tools to generate character sprites and work with tilesets. While I personally think it will need a bit of community resource support to really make it a valuable tool for RPG creation, it comes with a decent number of parts to create some interesting character designs that are far beyond the capabilities of the built in system.
