Battlefield: Take Point – The Winning Video

Back in early-April 2014, the teams at Electronic Arts Australia and EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) announced that they would be holding their first Battlefield Film Challenge. This saw individuals and groups produce short films of two to five minutes inspired by games within the Battlefield franchise including Battlefield 4Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company.

With “countless” entries, they managed to whittle down the submissions to the Top Five, with finalists flown to Sydney for a special screening of their videos to the public at the Bondi Pavilion, Sydney. The judging panel consisted of four key developers from DICE:

  • Lars Gustavsson, Creative Director
  • Roland Smedberg, Senior Video Director
  • Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer
  • Alan Kertz, Lead Core Gameplay Designer

The winning video was announced as Battlefield: Take Point produced by twenty-one year old budding filmmaker Patrick Mazzolo, who was awarded a prize of $10,000 AUD. A full list of the top five entries and links to the videos are available below:
