XSEED To Pit International Gamers Against Vampire-like Entities in Akihabara – Confirm Plans to Release Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed

-

If there were one game this year that I would expect XSEED Games to have acquired the rights for, it would be Akiba’s Trip. Turns out that my hypothesis came into fruition today with the video game localizer / publisher confirming plans to publish Akiba’s Trip 2 under the working title Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. Unlike the original (Not published internationally) which was only available on the PlayStation Portable, the sequel will be available for purchase on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms during “Summer 2014”.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed takes players on an eclectic trip through Tokyo’s famous “Electric Town” Akihabara. Although rather than doing some virtual shopping or say… managing an anime store in a Tycoon game format…. players are pitted against vampire-like beings in over-the-top RPG action.  Akiba has been invaded by creatures known as “Synthisters” who prey on the otaku patrons of Akihabara like vampires, but feast on their will to live and energy to socialize rather than their blood. Only direct exposure to sunlight can destroy the Synthisters, and it’s up to players to ensure that that’s just what they get. If only it weren’t for those pesky clothes protecting them from the sun’s harmful rays… *WINK*.

Equipped with only a handy smartphone app and a number of everyday items as weapons…. it is your job to undress the undead and ensure they are sent back to the netherworld without further harming the paradise of anime, manga, video games etc.
