Ubisoft Announce Deluxe Edition for Child of Light

-

To date we have only really seen Ubisoft Montpelier use the UbiArt Framework for home video game console releases, with both those titles (Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends) turning out to be highly creative and enjoyable side-scrolling platformers. However looking forward to next month we are set to see the platforming RPG Child of Light published on current and last generation consoles, the first outing of Ubisoft Montreal with UbiArt.

While the standard edition of this game will be digital-download exclusive on all consoles, it has been confirmed that those in select regions including Europe and Australia will have the additional option of buying a physical deluxe edition for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms. While I don’t have a RRP on hand, it is now available for pre-order through select retailers.

The Child of Light Deluxe Edition will contain several pieces of physical /digital exclusive content, including a poster designed by Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano, a 24 page art-book with unrevealed artworks and an Igniculus keyring. This boxed edition will also include additional game content, with a bonus quest, a new character and a pack of collectibles.

CHILDOFLIGHT

Child of Light is set for release from April 30th, 2014 for a wide array of video game consoles including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 (Through the PlayStation Store), Xbox360 and Xbox One (Through the Xbox Live Marketplace), Wii U (Through the Nintendo eShop) and finally on the PC via digital download outlets.

Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria.  Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore a mystical kingdom. The game puts players in the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the Queen of the Night. Helped by her companion Igniculus the firefly and several unlikely allies, Aurora will face her darkest fears, including dragons and other mystical creatures, in this modern take on a coming-of-age story.
