Building upon the recent successes of Reki Kawahara’s light novel series and in no small part the anime adaptation of it, Bandai Namco are set to launch their second video game instalment in the franchise Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, its first outing on the PlayStation Vita.
The latest batch of screenshots released for the game earlier today highlights the multiplayer system where four players and four partner characters can enter the same instance together and the inclusion of battle system mechanics such as the Original Sword Skill (OSS) system. As there is a heavily romantic element to the source material, the screenshots also highlight some of Hollow Fragment’s dating system mechanics including the capacity to lie in bed and talk with the different heroines.
While not confirmed for an international release, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is set for release within Japan on April 24th, 2014.
