Razer Announce the Addition of Two New Models to Razer Blade Line of Laptops, Available Next Month

-

One can be pretty adaptable with what laptop they purchase when it comes to writing essays, blogging or doing general everyday activities on. However speaking from lots of prior experience with an underpowered laptop and active role in my university’s gaming society, things become much more complicated the moment you decide to undertake LAN parties with it where speed, visual quality and technology within the box all play an important factor in the overall experience.

While many manufacturers have pushed the concept of “gaming laptops” to their limits over the past few years, Razer have today made two announcements that should appeal to the hardcore and even casual gaming markets for which a normal everyday laptop just doesn’t have enough power to meet their demands.

The team at Razer have announced two new additions to their Razer Blade line of gaming laptops, including an update to their existing 17″ Razer Blade Pro and a slightly cheaper 14″ Razer Blade model. Both models are now available for pre-order and will be shipped out starting in late-April 2014.

Information and specs on both these models are available for your convenience below:

Coming in at a starting price of $3,399, the biggest feature that Razer seem to be promoting about this new model is the inclusion of a high quality 14″ 3200×1800 resolution touchscreen monitor which they claim sharply exhibits even the finest details and text, although it is certainly a laptop you would want to buy for gaming rather than typing up an essay on. Rather than go into detail that I myself would skip over, take a look at the all-important specs for yourself and make up your own mind on how this compares to what you already own:

The Razer Blade sets the benchmark by which all laptops should be measured. The Razer Blade, the world’s thinnest and most powerful gaming laptop, now comes with the best 14‐inch notebook display on the planet.

The Razer Blade laptop screams premium design and top‐notch performance, and we are as happy as can be outfitting such a beautiful and powerful machine with our latest graphics processor. With nearly twice the graphics horsepower compared to last year’s model, the Razer Blade will be one of the most visually stunning, yet portable, gaming laptops the world has ever seen.

Razer Blade Pro

If you are a bit like myself and cringe at the prospect of just having a 14″ monitor despite the enhancements in screen resolution, then Razer have another option you might prefer more. Boasting a number of enhancements (and a few limitations) over the 14″ model, the Razer Blade Pro (17″) is also set to be unleashed upon the Australian market simultaneously.

At the heart of the Blade Pro is a full‐HD, 17‐inch LED main display working in‐tandem with the Razer Switchblade User Interface (SBUI), which provides users with one‐click access to program tools, macros, key binds and other customizable functions, as well as full Internet capabilities independent of the main display. Features of the Razer SBUI include 10 adaptive tactile keys, a cell phone‐grade LCD display that doubles as a track pad, and associated proprietary software.

Among other applications, Razer SBUI will come equipped with programs supporting Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Maya and GIMP. Six new programs will launch with this model including a Windows 8 Charms app that simplifies interface access to Windows Desktop functions and a Twitch app that unlocks the stream service’s broadcasting and commenting features.

Once again, enough of me going through boring facts… take a look at the specs below to make up your own mind on this laptop. Models will start at $3,599 including GST and as with the 14″ Razer Blade will begin shipping out in late-April 2014. More information and pre-orders can be found HERE.

Our engineers packed the Blade Pro with the most advanced components available, and our software engineers designed some incredible proprietary apps to make gaming and creative work more efficient – and more fun –while staying firm to our commitment to true portability.

Gamers and professionals see the value in a premium, portable 17‐inch laptop, which is why we partnered with Razer earlier this decade to bring this project to life. ”The Razer Blade Pro created an entirely new category of high‐performance laptops capable of meeting the demanding needs of professional multimedia designers and hardcore gamers. This next generation of the Razer Blade Pro will be even more powerful, thanks to the new GeForce GTX 860M inside.

*Do note that all the specs I have listed above are for the base model, and amendments to both systems can be made at an additional cost.
