While details still remain limited, GUST have confirmed in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation that the next Atelier game to be released on the PlayStation 3 later this year will be titled Atelier Sharry: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. Following the naming schema, this will continue and possibly conclude the “Dusk” arc of chapters which currently consist of Ayesha and Escha & Logy.
Similar to what they did in Escha & Logy they will be featuring dual protagonists who will quite likely offer replayability and a different perspective dependent on whom you choose, however they have opted to work with two female protagonists – 16-year-old Shari Stella (シャリステラ) and 18-year-old Charlotte Eluminous (シャルロッテ･エルミナス) rather than balancing the genders. Both will be Alchemists, so it once again leaves the question if they will be bringing back any of the three alchemists from previous games.
While it is far too soon to call if they will be omitting the time system that has plagued the past five games, GUST will be introducing a new “Life Task” system, where upon acquiring a task you must complete three elements: explore, synthesize and fight in order to progress through the story.
