Japanese video game developer GUST have shared new screenshots and information for Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, the sixteenth game in the Atelier franchise and third in the “Dusk” set of games. Similar to Atelier Escha & Logy, Atelier Shallie will feature two protagonists who go under the nickname “Shallie”, however instead of maintaining the gender balance that I particularly liked, both will be female.
The new screenshots feature both of the alchemists, Shallistera and Shallotte Elminus, one of whom you will chose as the dominant character upon starting the game. Both have different backgrounds as alchemists and both have different ambitions in fulfilling their journey. Shallistella aims to save her village which is on the brink of death while Shallote has a simpler goal of making a name for herself as a fully-fledged alchemist.
This could possibly sum up the “Dusk” line of games given GUST’s recent release plans being trilogies. Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is set for launch on the PlayStation 3 on June 26th, 2014 within Japan, with no international release plans confirmed to date.
