Ubisoft Showcase Snowdrop Game Engine Inclued in Tom Clancy’s The Division

One of the major announcements made by Ubisoft at this years E3 Expo was Tom Clancy’s The Division – which is set to at least attempt to break out from what earlier installments have provided – that due to a disease spread throughout the US during Black Friday sales which caused chaos in just five days, you are pitted against computer controlled and other online players in a chaotic and devastated open-world New York City.

The Division, developed for next generation consoles, has had an entirely new engine developed for it known as “Snowdrop”, which they hope will set a new bar in video game realism. Not sure whether to take their word for it? Developers Ubisoft Massive have today shared an almost three minute long preview trailer showcasing the engine as well as a small set of screenshots available below:
