Available on the PC, Mac and Linux, the latest video game release from Sydney-based development studio SeeThrough Studios, Particulars, is set to launch via the Humble Store from later on today. As with their Steam release this will be an early access title, meaning the full experience will not be available until Q1 2014.
But in return for paying early, you get to play early and reap the benefits of having 50% taken off the cost of the game if you buy it before the 16th December 2013. This is in addition to all purchases in the first week coming with a complementary Steam code and 10% of the proceeds going to a charity.
Particulars is a game with a combination of arcade-action and puzzle gameplay, set in the mysterious world of subatomic particles. Taking control of a single quark, you must negotiate the fundamental forces of the universe. Other particles will push and pull at you – you’ll always be on the brink of losing control and being dragged towards annihilation. Woven through the game is the story of Alison, a young physicist with a troubled past. Her journey through the subatomic world is drenched in memories (both good and bad) and will ultimately lead her to some surprising revelations.
