Assassin’s Creed: Pirates to Set Sail on Mobile Devices Next Month

While Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag did feature interoperability with mobile devices to deliver an enhanced single-player experience, Ubisoft have today confirmed that they will be bringing an additional side-game “Assassin’s Creed: Pirates” to high end smartphones and tablets on the 5th December 2013 through both the Google Play Android Store and iOS App Store for $4.99. Bringing one of the most awesome elements of AC IV (The Pirate Ships) to mobile devices, you should be set to enjoy brutal naval combat, Caribbean exploration and a quest for hidden loot.

In Assassin’s Creed Pirates, players will explore the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy as Alonzo Batilla, a young and ambitious captain. Players will be tasked to manage their crew, upgrade their ship, recruit new crew members and engage in massive real-time naval battles to become the most feared pirate in the Caribbean and claim La Buse’s renowned treasure. Along the way, players will cross paths with Assassins and Templars, as well as famous buccaneers including Blackbeard, Bellamy, and Hornigold.

Developed by their Paris studio instead of Montreal, this release features a new game engine which they describe as bringing “breathtaking moving waters, lush islands and gorgeous graphics” to mobile devices.
