Earlier today Namco Bandai shared a set of screenshots and information for Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Battle Pentagram, the next video game adaptation of the popular anime series produced by SHAFT.
Depending on which of the magical girls you use in battle, you will have different weapons and magic at your disposal – however as with most games there is a basic attack button… in this case the triangle button. Timing these perfectly can result in combo attacks while additional “Dash” attacks can be made by attacking while dashing. Magical attacks are performed through the use of the standard attack button and moving the left analog stick. Areal and step attacks can also be performed using different combinations, while powerful magic attacks that actually use up MP can be cast with the square button.
As the girls enter the fray in pairs, they can also use combination magic, with their magic power dictated by their bond. One of the purpose of the daylight sessions is for the girls to interact with each other and form these bonds.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Battle Pentagram is set to be released exclusively on the Playstation Vita in Japan on the 19th December 2013. A limited edition has also been confirmed, with the in-game bonuses being DLC costumes for each of the five girls – Madoka – Gym Uniform / Buruma, Homura – Swimsuit, Mami – Idol Dress, Sakura – Uniform and Sayaka – Pyjamas.
