Sony Computer Entertainment Announce the Playstation Vita TV – The Limits of a Small Screen No Longer?

-

During their press conference earlier today, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan confirmed their plans for the Playstation Vita TV – a light weight games console that is set to allow owners to play both Playstation Vita and Playstation Portable games from the comfort of their television. It will also have interoperability with the Playstation 4 in terms of streaming, however may not support any games that make compulsory use of touch screen functionality due to the restrictions of the Dualshock 3 controller.

This console is set for release on the 14th November 2013 in Japan from the price of 9,480 yen / 14,280 yen for the standard and value pack (Dualshock 3 controller + 8GB memory card) editions respectively.

Honestly given the number of more “non-portable” friendly video games on both consoles, it surprises me that they haven’t done this sooner. Who is up for playing Soreyuke! Burunyanman on the big screen?

Unfortunately Sony Computer Entertainment have no news on when this console will hit international shores, with Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios making this response to a question regarding a potential US or EU release date:
