Natsume Open Pre-Orders for Hometown Story

-

Dragon_Green1While it is possible we won’t be seeing many Harvest Moon games from Natsume at least in the near future due to XSEED Games releasing the newest titles, the worldwide developer and publisher have been working with Harvest Moon father Yasuhiro Wada in producing Hometown Story – a title I would best describe as being the child of Harvest Moon and Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale.

The company have today launched their pre-order campaign for the Nintendo 3DS exclusive title. One of the goodies to be included in the campaign is a plush doll of the iconic baby Dragon Ember – who just wants to be accepted by the towns people. First introduced during E3, the cute and cuddly blue Ember was exclusive only to the trade show, but now he is taking on a bigger role as the official plushie for Hometown Story pre-orders at GameStop.

Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume had this to say upon launching the campaign:

We are excited to offer gamers a little something special for being among the first to pre-order the game through GameStop. Hometown Story is a very exciting new game for us, and we know our players will be excited to get their hands on this exclusive new plush! October can’t come soon enough!

While no PAL region campaign has been launched just yet, the team at Rising Star Games will be behind publishing the title in their covered regions. From their previous releases this may mean that they will team up with All Interactive Entertainment in Australia.

Game Information

The recent passing of your grandmother and the shop you inherited has brought you back to your hometown. However, the shop has become run down, and no one wants to even window shop there anymore. Can you turn the shop around and even expand it, or is it destined to stay in the red forever?

You won’t have to go it alone, though. You’ll get help from a magical sprite name Pochica, who will help you get the store back up and running, and introduce you to all of the unique characters who reside in the town. The villagers will all change and grow throughout the game, and that person who you thought might be up to no good when you first met them just might have a heart of gold! You’ll never know what to expect in Hometown Story!
