ATLUS USA Share Trailer for PS2 Classics Release of Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity

-

If you have entered the RPG scene in the last half-decade or even entered the video game fandom during this generation of consoles you may not be familiar with Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity, a JRPG released by ATLUS USA in North America for the Playstation 2.

While it was a very abrupt release with little promotion leading up to it, the game was released yesterday under the Playstation 2 Classics line of titles on the North American Playstation Network store at a price of $9.99. This joins a number of other ATLUS USA titles to receive a similar release including Persona 3 FES, Odin Sphere and Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.

A deadly mist called the “Miasma” spreads across the land, killing all in its path. Having forsaken hope, the inhabitants simply await their deaths. Lord Dignus, self-appointed Overlord of Fortuna, sends forth the Imperial Legion to put a quick end to their apathy and eliminate this “weakness” from his kingdom. Spero, a member of the Legion, has been given the task of hunting spirits to further the alchemic studies of his friend Viser. The young soldier hopes this will bring an end to the Miasma. Meanwhile, a shaman warrior named Linea believes that she can save the world by opening the fabled Gate of Eternity.

Some promoted features of the game include:

  • Work together to launch devastating team attacks with other characters
  • Hi-res hand-drawn graphics bring the world of Stella Deus to life
  • Over 50 hours of tactical gameplay featuring sidequests and the Catacombs of Trial
  • Customize your inventory by fusing and creating items
