One of the most frustrating aspects of being an early console adopter in the past has been that building up your game collection in its early days is tough – with either too few titles, too many “concept” or “casual” games or without the variety there being few that catered to your preference palette.

With this generation of consoles it seems like both Microsoft and Sony are trying to avoid gamers from thinking they have brought a pricey piece of electronics to showcase on the shelf for a few years by having larger release slates than ever before. Microsoft have today made a major move be announcing all 23 games which will be available on shelves and/or via their online store upon the Xbox One’s launch. Although with some stores already running out of stock for the console there may be even more when late-adopters finally manage to pick up their machine up.

The list of titles and their developers are included below:

  • Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (Ubisoft, Ubisoft)
  • Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts)
