Last month, Nitroplus announced at Wonder Festival in Chiba, Japan that they had two new video game installments based around the Super Sonico franchise. One of them was for the Playstation 3 by the name of More Communication with Sonico while the other was for the Nintendo 3DS under the title Super Sonico in Production.
While the Playstation 3 installment was a port of their original 2011 PC game, Super Sonico in Proudction is a completely new title in development which is a cross between a rhythm game and an idol raising game. Your goal as her producer is to make her the top idol amongst the competition.
Nitroplus have recently unveiled some new screenshots for the game which can be checked out below. These feature Sonico both on-stage and off-stage in a range of different costumes. Given that Sonico is the mascot of Nitroplus and they have no set publishing wing outside of Japan, it remains up in the air if this game will receive an international release.
Unless something like Project Diva F does amazing business (and chances are against it, seeing as how Sega’s publishing it. Even though Miku has plenty of fans in the Western World, if Sega doesn’t advertise & market the game… well, at all, chances are said fans won’t know to pick it up. Heck, it comes out later this month and STILL doesn’t have a release date!), I sincerely doubt this will see release outside of Japan. But it looks cute, and if it’s anything like Project Diva it should be a fun rhythm game. Enjoy it, Japanese gamers! 😉
