The European division of Nippon Ichi Software America have today confirmed that Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan is set to receive a free demo release via the Nintendo eShop. This demo will be available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS from the 15th August 2013, and will be followed by a full release at the end of the month.

Etrian Odyssey IV is the fourth installment in the dungeon-crawling / map-drawing series for the Nintendo 3DS that was released in North America in February this year. More interestingly, for PAL regions this would actually be Etrian Odyssey II given that neither the second or third games ever made it out in the region unlike Japan and North America.

For centuries, the tree Yggdrasil has been a constant presence in the lives of the people of Tharsis. It looms on the horizon, visible from everywhere in the city. But its roots are in a far-off land where no one has ventured until the Outland Count of Tharsis sponsors an Explorers Guild to reach Yggdrasil and discover its secrets. You are the latest explorer arriving in Tharsis to seek your fame and fortune. Board your skyship and set out into the clouds in search of treasure, glory, and the answer to Tharsis’ oldest mystery.
