ATLUS USA, the North American publisher of the highly acclaimed Shin Megami Tensei franchise and its spin-off titles have recently released a preview look at the upcoming strategy guide for Shin Megami Tensei IV. Being a samurai of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado reportedly requires intense training and meticulous focus during combat. ATLUS USA have realized that and for the samurai-in-training, pre-orders and a limited run of first prints of the game will include a strategy guide to help enduring the trials of combat.
While the guide is not going to be one of the 400-page monstrosities you may find for other games, but is also not going to be one of those four page leaflets you find in other games. Developed by the team at Prima games, the guide will be a 176-page soft-cover guide. In addition to walkthroughs, charts, maps, combat tips and fusion tables, the lengthy guide also contains select pre-production artwork of the game’s characters, designed by Masayuki Doi.

Pre-orders will include the collectible box set, which includes a 176-page starter strategy guide and art book, soundtrack CD, and collectible slipcase. Unfortunately for those outside of North America, this game is on the Nintendo 3DS which does suffer from region restrictions that even Microsoft have attempted to distance themselves from with their upcoming Xbox One console. Fortunately as the title was unveiled during the Nintendo of Europe Nintendo Direct presentation a couple of months back, a release is in store for PAL regions in the near future *Fingers Crossed*.
