Zen United and PQube have today announced the launch of their brand new gaming portal – Rice Digital, which is dedicated to promoting and selling Japanese indie or ‘doujin’ games. The website which can be viewed HERE has been curated dedicated to educating and informing gamers of PC indie content available from Japan in English (Including several titles such as Eryi’s Action and Ether Vapor Remaster which have been reviewed on The Otaku’s Study).
Geraint Evans | Director of Zen United
The Japanese indie games scene is one of the most misunderstood in gaming – with a belief that it’s either non-existent, or focused predominantly on adult content. The Japanese doujin scene is thriving and is a hotbed of quality titles. Our aim is to highlight what’s out there and to create an entertaining and informative gateway to make these great games more accessible.
Rice Digital has a focus on bringing gamers the latest news from the Japanese indie scene as well as selecting what they consider the finest games and making them available for pourchase via the Rice Digital online store. The service has launched today with eight fully localized titles from doujin publisher Nyu Media – with further announcements and products slated to come in the new year.
