Playstation Vita System Software Update 2.0 Launches - Brings Playstation Plus and a Wealth of Other Features to the Console 1

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced an extensive list of over 19 exciting updates that are available on PlayStation Vita through software system update v2.0. Included in the update will be support for the PlayStation Plus service, Wireless Content Management and improved browser performance.

PS Vita users will now have access to PS Plus, the premium subscription service package from PlayStation Network.  With the launch of PS Plus for PS Vita, users will have access to an Instant Game Collection, which includes unlimited access to regularly refreshed selection of downloadable games. Across both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita systems, the Instant Game Collection gives members unlimited access to a constant library of  14 games and at least five new games a month, equating to 65 games a year while they have an active PS Plus subscription.

Beyond the Playstation Plus,  System Software Update v.2.00 will strengthen the Vita platform by adding a host of new features and enhancements. Updates to the display performance and the browser functionality have also been included. The improvements have been made to ensure an even better user experience and with further updates to the display functionality in planning, the PS Vita experience is constantly evolving and improving.

The update will deliver increased functionality to Content Manager which will allow wireless content transfer between PS Vita and PC. Users will be able to browse folders on their PC or PS3 system and copy them easily right onto their PS Vita. A new email app has also been added to the browser that allows users to add up to five email accounts and 5,000 contacts. Onscreen notifications will let PS Vita players know when they’ve received mail so you can keep in touch anywhere, anytime.
