Unlike the main numbered installments of the Dynasty Warriors series which send you on a more linear storyline of its plot and diverse character listing, the Empires installments give you a bit of freedom in altering the storyline through the use of custom characters, non-linear storylines and more freedom to do what you want – from taking over select regions of China to undertaking specific quests.
The latest screenshots released of the game (Source: 4Gamer.net) does not focus on one specific area of gameplay but takes you from the main menu, to scenario selection (5 scenarios + a 6th custom scenario) to actual gameplay.
