Over the many years since its launch, the Corpse Party franchise has seen the release of several different dojin games based on its same core concepts. The dojin circle Grindhouse which was founded in January by members affiliated with Team GrisGris have announced a numbered sequel to the original game – Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient. The biggest change…. that the characters are no longer in a school environment but instead are in a haunted hospital.
The game follows a girl named Ayame, who wakes up in a hospital connected to medical apparatus but is completely alone. With missing memories as to why she is in this hospital, she must find her way to escape the hospital. Of course given this is a game in the Corpse Party series – don’t expect it to be without the characteristics it is known for. Team GrisGris writer Kedwin is behind the direction and writing while Kousaku Ogawa is behind the programming, design and also handles the same roles for Team GrisGris.
Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is due to premiere at Comiket 83 late this year. The first Corpse Party game released for the Playstation Portable – Corpse Party: Blood Covered Repeated Fear was last year released in English by XSEED Games. The future releases of Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient alongside Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and Corpse Party The Anthology: Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Game of Love 2U to the international market remains open as of this post.
