Those who have played either of the Cladun games released by NIS America on the Playstation Portable over the years should feel home with Legasista quite quickly. But as a dungeon crawling game it is important to have a creative cast of characters and a strong storyline in order to help justify hours upon hours of roaming around dungeons. Some or all of these characters will appear as playable party members (Active or Support) alongside custom characters you can create. While we cannot say if these characters and the storyline will live up to expectations until the game is released in the next couple of months, NIS America have been active in sharing profiles on the games characters, which I have included below:
Alto Straiter
“The only thing that matters, is what you believe”
A young explorer who has been travelling in search of a way to return his younger sister, who has been turned into crystal by a curse, back to normal. He heads to the Icy Tower to find the relic that may hold the power he desires.
“Why should I take orders from a mere human?”
“I remember a little bit! Alto! Alto Straiter! Yay!”
An ancient weapon, created by long lost science and technology. She was in “Sleep Mode” for a long time but was reactivated by Alto. She showed a dictatorial and heartless personality when she first booted up, but she experiences some problems and loses her memory.
Along with her memories, she also loses the ability to use most of her functions. Her loss of memory also had an effect on her personality, making her behave more childish. There are chips within the Ivy Tower that have partial backups of her memory.
Ms. Dungeon
“No one came for a thousand years, but now so many intruders are keeping me busy”
The android girl who is the manager of the Ivy Tower and its base camp, the Railyard. She provides food and other services for those who dare to challenge the Ivy Tower. But she does things at her own pace, and is a bit of an airhead.
Oh! By the way, Ms. Dungeon is only a nickname. Her real name is T48R-β.
Mari Straiter
Alto’s younger sister who was turned into a crystal by a curse. She was a friendly and strong-minded girl who liked to take care of everybody. Alto talks to her from time to time, but whether or not his voice reaches her inside the crystal remains unknown.
Sprout
“Moshi? Highly nutritious, moshi! Trouble, Moshi!”
A type of bean sprout that Ms. Dungeon created through selective breeding. They have their own will and are able to talk. They are the considerably cute mascot characters of this game.
Sprouty
“Sir Al, is this your first time on these dungeons? If so, I’ll gladly spood-feed you with everything you need to know, moshi!”
A female sprout who falls in lovew ithA lto at first sight. Briskly offers help.
Leina Mindel
“Did you let your guard down because it was just one female? You’re no good at all”
A treasure hunter that came to loot the Ivy Tower with her partner, Shout. She has a vast knowledge of ancient relics, and can revamp and repair machines. Because science is shunned, people fearfully call her the ‘Blue Witch’.
Shout
“…Affirmative”
An ancient weapon that Leina restored and customized with junk parts. He doesn’t waste words needlessly, and calmly analyzes every situation to best serve Leina’s needs.
Leina is hot!
