ATLUS USA Announces Their Intention to Publish Dragon's Crown 1

ATLUS USA have today announced that they have acquired the North American publishing rights for Dragon’s Crown, a co-operative action RPG being developed for both the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita gaming consoles currently in development by Vanillaware. The transfer of licensing rights from UTV Ignition to Index Digital Media (ATLUS) only affects the title’s publishing and distribution – for now nothing else. This change now means the game will be produced, published and distributed by ATLUS whose creative team are assiting developer Vanillaware in resuming and completing work.

Shinichi Suzuki, President and CEO of Index Digital Media had this to say on the announcement:

We are exceedingly proud to become a part of producing and publishing Dragon’s Crown. Vanillaware is a developer beloved for their tremendous visual talent and extraordinary attention to detail.  Our previous collaboration with them, Odin Sphere™, went on to sell over 350,000 units worldwide, entering the prestigious PlayStation® Greatest Hits library.  While much work remains, we believe this collaboration will be well worth the wait.

The game is due for release sometime in 2013.
