Ridge Racer (Vita) to Feature Vehicle Designs and Music Themed After The Idolm@ster

-

Fiera x Haruka

Namco Bandai who is the developer of the Ridge Racer series – including the more heavily DLC supported Vita release also happen to be behind the “The Idolm@ster” series thats second numbered installment was released on the Playstation 3 late-last year along with an earlier Playstation Portable release. Be that as it may, it turns out that Namco Bandai have decided to do an unlikely cross-over by deciding to release thirteen EX Colour downloadable cars at a later date featuring the idols from the game series.

Rauna x  Makoto

The first batch of downloadable cars will be released on the 14th March 2012 and will feature the idols Haruka and Makoto (Shown in videos above), with Azusa, Chihaya and Yayoi cars to be released on the 12th April 2012 and finally the others to be released in May 2012. Each of these will set a gamer back around 500 yen each, with no word on if there will be an international release of this DLC.

There will also be Idolm@ster Music tracks which you can purchase for the game in May, with four being released in May. The cars will set you back 500 yen each while the music tracks will cost 150 yen each…. not exactly cheap DLC, but the company is apparently going to be offering a 2,980 yen Idolm@ster DLC pass which will give you access to all the content at a later date.

    • I agree with you on that, however the good news is that Namco Bandai have been releasing Idolm@ster DLC for other recent releases such as Tales of Xillia – which might be a sign of better things to come.
