Persona 2: Eternal Punishment to See Release on Playstation Portable

-

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment to See Release on Playstation Portable 1I would personally not go calling this as surprising news… as it was inevitable that ATLUS would take the dive into doing a re-release of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment on the Playstation Portable after what I would consider a successful release both in Japan and internationally of Innocent Sin, released last year. This is the second of the two installments in the Persona 2 saga and takes place after the events of the first but in a completely new timeline retaining two of the main characters from IS while introducing new and previously unplayable characters as party members.

Unfortunately there are no digital assets yet as this was only revealed in this weeks issue of Famitsu, but the game is believed to be slated for release on the 17th May 2012. This game will include new scenarios, a new opening animation from Mad House and several of the improvements from the last game such as the choice between old and remastered music along with the original graphics being upped to support the PSP and Vita’s screen resolution.

The first game was released by ATLUS USA in North America and Ghostlight for PAL regions. Neither have commented on this announcement yet but there is a good chance in my books that they will be picking this up.
