Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Release Date Set at Q1 2013

-

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch fro the Playstation 3 has just been announced by Namco Bandai (Partners) to be released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand fully localized in Q1 2013, meaning it is only a year (give or take a month) until you will be able to play it in English on your home consoles. The title is being localized from beginning to end with both Japanese and English dubs being included – and subtitles in five languages: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

On this announcement, Akihiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5 had this to say:

We have worked very hard on Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and it has been a great honour to collaborate with Studio Ghibli and Joe Hisaishi, so it was important for me that players outside Japan also have the best experience of the game we can give them. To make this possible, we decided to invest the time in localising the game so that as many people as possible across Europe can enjoy the full experience in their own language.

The game itself was developed by Level-5, the studio behind other smash hits including Dragon Quest VIII and IX and the Professor Layton series. However… perhaps even more notable is that for the games characters and animations, Level-5 collaborated with the team at Studio Ghibli who needs to introduction. The in-game music comes from the talent of Joe Hisaishi, composer to many animated titles.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a heart-warming tale of a young boy called Oliver, who embarks on a journey into a parallel world to become a magician in an attempt to bring his mother back from the dead. Along the way Oliver makes new friends and adopts many of the wonderful creatures that inhabit the world, raising them to battle other creatures on his behalf as he takes on formidable enemies.

While it is disappointing we still have a year to wait, lets hope that the localization is near perfect. To tide you over until Namco Bandai’s next release about this game, treat your eyes to this bunch of game screenshots.
