Information Revealed at a Beyond the Labyrinth Demo Event Held Yesterday 1

Yesterday, Konami and tri-Ace held an event where they showed off their upcoming Nintendo 3DS release of Beyond the Labyrinth and shared previews and information surrounding difficulty levels, the companions and battles, the custom costume character and of course basic gameplay mechanics and panty designs. All this information has been condensed into a few bullet points below:

  1. In terms of difficulty, the game gives you a normal hard difficulty but also super hard, ultra hard and hyper hard difficulty settings. The difficulty can be changed mid-way to another “Hard” anytime during your playthrough however the game will only log the lowest difficulty once you complete the game. So if you switch down two or three levels for the final boss, you could potentially have a stain on your clear game history. To replay the game more quickly, you can use the B button to fast forward through a majority of the games cutscenes.
     …
  2. Like Photoshop? This is more of a reminder but you can use templates to customize your girls clothings to suit your tastes. There will also be a feature (In what way this will be implemented is still unknown) to trade clothing designs with others over the internet.
     …
  3. You will be able to change the girls panty colour at will.
     …
  4. Annoyed with games that refuse to restore your characters upon reaching a save point? In Beyond the Labyrinth your party’s HP will recover in full, along with other spots during the game which will not allow you to save but just recover HP.
  5. As was recently revealed, you will have four companions accompany you in battle, and these characters will talk with you during it. Some paramaters such as move points will carry over into the next battle as well.
     ..
  6. They claim the game will take around 40 hours – but as always I will need to see the actual game before I buy into any claims as sometimes game companies have been accurate, other times waaaay off while other times been to conservative.

Beyond The Labyrinth will be released on the Nintendo 3DS beginning the 19th Janaury 2012 in Japan with no current word on any international distribution. Below I have included two more screenshots of the games character creation designs.
