Last Rebellion - Still getting hopeful | My take on Number Scores in Reviews 1

This is my question to all my readers from Australia. Is there any stores in Queensland that happen to stock this game on their shelves or alternatively, any sort of official release date for this game? I am aware of some less than stellar reviews about this game from international reviewers, however this reviewer right here is still eagarly awaiting the game having some sort of eventual Aussie release. Hopefully there is a release date similar to other regions for Trinity Universe as well…. looking forward to it.

It is interesting, I have been reading several posts lately, including several on the GameFaqs Nier boards relating to the number rating system of review sites. I would like to state my opinions on the number rating system since I myself use it. (Press on Read More to read on)

My admin panel states that my Nier review came in at just under 3,000 words. That in my opinion is moderately long however it did take me a good hour and a half to type it up. At the end, I did put a quick number rating system and it came in at something like a 7.5/10. Personally, I didnt write all those words to have it come down to a few numbers, I put the number system in for those people who dont have the time to read all those words to get a quick gist of it, but not base their game purchasing judgement on it. There are several mini-categories inside each category that you must look at and the simple fact that, any reviewer, including myself, have preferences in what a game must contain, therefore read the long reviews of every reviewer and then correlate it with your own opinion of a game.

Also, I did enjoy Nier despite the low reviews, and as evidence, I actually took the time to enjoy near platinum’ing the game, just short of the item grind for weapon upgrade materials. I am also going through Bakugan: Battle Brawlers right now which is more aimed at young kids, and whilst it is not to my tastes, I can understand why younger children would enjoy it, and since there are very few young game reviewers, it is hard to get an accurate opinion for the target age group unless they can successfully put themselves in a childs mindset.

Finally my plea to companies, whilst Australia might not be the ideal location to release games, due to their supposed lower fanbases and government that for whatever reason does not have an 18+ rating and impending internet censorship (Lets not get me started on that), there are many people, as evident by this blog (Me, Hi!), the successful opening of the newly developed Mana Bar in Brisbane and a number of successful gaming stores such as EB Games, GameTraders and Game just to name a few, don’t underestimate the fanbase of Australia!
