The Producers had this to say about the announcement: We have assembled an extraordinary cast of young stars to play the von Trapp children. We had over 800 children audition last month and we were absolutely blown away by the talent. It’s exciting that Australian audiences will see a production of this quality.

The Sound of Music is set to begin at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Lyric Theatre starting 11 March 2016. The Australian cast will be led by Amy Lehpamer as Maria Rainer and Cameron Daddo as Captain Georg won Trapp. They will be starring alongside Marina Prior, Jacqueline Dark, Lorraline Bayly and David James among others.
