While there seems to be a site issue at this moment which is listing Sept 23rd as the only valid date for the stage musical, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) have today officially launched ticket sales for the upcoming Queensland run of Strictly Ballroom the Musical. To be available for a limited season, shows will begin from September 9th 2015 – with tickets priced between $50 and $150 depending on what day and time you wish to attend.
This new production is being managed by the original creative team behind the classic 1992 film including: director and co-writer Baz Luhrmann, set and costume designer Catherine Martin, choreographer John “Cha Cha” O’Connell and co-writer Craig Pearce. Featuring a main, secondary and ensemble cast of 43 Australian performers, they hope to take you on a journey through many original classics from the film such as Love is in the Air, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps and Time After Time. New songs by artists such as Eddie Perfect and Sia will also seek to provide something fresh for newcomers and those familiar with Strictly Ballroom.
