Of course, if you wish to know more about the game – including a review of the actual game I encourage you to check out my Tales of Xillia archives HERE. If you are interested about its sequel which I have also reviewed, click HERE. Unlike the original, Tales of Xillia 2 has yet to be confirmed for international release. [E3 2013 Update] Sony’s Virtual Booth in Playstation Home Does Not Exclude Your Fix of JRPG’s
Posted on June 12, 2013 | No CommentsAs I have done since their 2010 E3 appearance, I logged into Playstation Home to take part in their annual virtual booth. I went in expecting the usual suspects – a number of first party titles such as Tearaway, The Last of Us and BEYOND: Two Souls as well as a couple of third party titles such as Assassin’s Creed IV and Diablo III – I got pretty much all of that. What I was not expecting to see was one of the mini-quest lines dedicated to Namco Bandai’s upcoming JRPG release of Tales of Xillia, set to hit stores... -
International Release of Tales of Xillia to Not Feature English Dubbed Opening Sequence, To Retain Original Japanese Opening
Posted on June 8, 2013 | No CommentsWhile I must admit I felt a twinge of curiosity about how Namco Bandai would end up localizing the song, the company recently confirmed that unlike other installments in the Tales series they will be retaining the original Japanese dubbed opening theme for Tales of Xillia rather than dubbing it into English. Therefore when you pick up your copy of Tales of Xillia from the 6th August 2013, expect to hear Ayumi Hamasaki singing the opening sequence “Progress”, built up with some rather great animation produced by ufotable. Two animations are available for the opening sequence – one being for... -
[E3 2013 Trailer] Tales of Xillia – Wishes of Hope
Posted on June 7, 2013 | No CommentsWhile I hope this is not the only trailer we will get for the entirety of the expo, Namco Bandai have today released their E3 trailer for upcoming video game release Tales of Xillia. Pretty much devoid of gameplay footage, the key area of interest in this video is on the storyline – while providing us a look at the main characters as well as some of the secondary characters (Some of whom become playable characters in Tales of Xillia 2). “When Man and Spirit co exist, dreams and wishes are fulfilled. The spirits have the power to bring man’s... -
Rowen and Leia Battle Showcase Videos Released for Tales of Xillia
Posted on May 31, 2013 | No CommentsYou may recall that the other night I posted up new character screenshots for Tales of Xillia party members Leia Rolando and Rowen J. Ilbert… but without the usual battle showcase videos to go alongside them. They were released just a tad later than the screenshots, but have now been made available by Namco Bandai for your viewing pleasure. Above we have the battle showcase video for Leia Rolando – a fifteen year old childhood friend of male protagonist Jude, whom is employed as an apprentice nurse at the clinic in Lu Rondo. The last of the characters to join... -
Even More Screenshots Released for Tales of Xillia!
Posted on May 28, 2013 | No CommentsIn addition to the character-oriented screenshots released by Namco Bandai recently for the final two party members Leia Rolando and Rowen J. Ilbert, the company have also released another set of screenshots for the game. These screenshots are a bit more vague in their focus, and are sourced from the games tour around Europe this month. Tales of Xillia is set for release internationally on the 6th August 2013 exclusively for the Playstation 3 platform. Want a review? Click HERE. -
New Tales of Xillia (English) Screenshots – Leia Rolando and Rowen J. Ilbert
Posted on May 28, 2013 | No CommentsGenerally in sets of two characters, in the lead up to their August 6th international release of Tales of Xillia, Namco Bandai have been releasing character-oriented screenshots monthly. While this batch was released quite late in comparison to the others, the company have unveiled the screenshots for the remaining two party members – Leia Rolando and Rowen J. Ilbert. Leia is a fifteen year old childhood friend of Jude whom is employed as an apprentice nurse at the clinic in Lu Rondo. She is the last of the main characters to join Jude and Milla on their quest. At 62... -
Namco Bandai Celebrate 15 Years of Tales Games With a Short Trailer Showcasing Previous Games Released Internationally
Posted on May 28, 2013 | No CommentsWhile it is tragic that there are many Tales games that never made their way internationally, there have been a number of great releases over the last few years that have made it an important inclusion in this RPG gamers collection. With the franchise celebrating its 15th Anniversary and their upcoming release of Tales of Xillia in August, Namco Bandai have today released this preview trailer looking back at some of the titles that while may not all still be in-print, have made the series what it is today. Curious about Tales of Xillia but don’t want to wait a... -
More on the Special Edition Releases of Tales of Xillia to the International Market
Posted on April 13, 2013 | No CommentsOver the last day we have had several new goodies for the upcoming international release of Tales of Xillia for the Playstation 3 by Namco Bandai. One of these was in regards to the special edition releases that will be available upon the games launch, which was originally hidden in the last few seconds on the full trailer. Thankfully, we now have more information on just what these special editions will entail… although no release dates are known yet. As pictured above, the Tales of Xillia: Milla Maxwell Collector’s Edition features a 20,5cm (including base) Milla figurine based on the artistic game artwork,... -
Elize and Alvin Battle Showcase Videos Released for Tales of Xillia
Posted on April 12, 2013 | No CommentsWhile under a minute in length each, Namco Bandai have along with the screenshots and another trailer released battle showcase videos for both Elize and Alvin whom are of focus this month. As with earlier battle trailers, this attempts to highlight some of the moves available to each of the characters and also give us a peek at the English dub. Given I have played this game well in advance, I find myself struggling more to get into the English dubs for the characters in this game… especially considering in my review of Tales of Xillia the Japanese voice cast... -
New Tales of Xillia (English) Screenshots – Alvin and Elize (+ Teepo)
Posted on April 12, 2013 | No CommentsLast month in their first ever character focus for Tales of Xillia, Namco Bandai looked at the two main characters Milla Maxwell and Jude Mathis. But there are four party members (and one witty talking doll) to go yet and this month the company have chosen to look at Alvin and Elize (The first two party members you meet) as well as Elize’s talking doll Teepo. While Alvin’s name has remained unchanged in the localization – they have renamed both Elize (Initially Elise) and Teepo (Tipo). Below are screenshots for both of these characters both during dialogue and during battle. Tales... -

To mark this announcement, the company have unveiled a new English dubbed trailer focusing on the storyline – and in particular the two main protagonists Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell from whom one of you will choose to be your main character. In the trailer as well, they preview two additional editions that will be available at launch aside from the standard edition. These are: Milla Maxwell...
