  • The microwave is a time machine and the girl gets shot. Okarin sends another text. Nukes another banana. The mad scientist meddled with forces he never should have known about. The girl gets run over by a car. Okarin goes back to stop the bleeding. Dashes madly through the dark streets. Races against time. The girl gets hit by a train. Failures and flatlines multiply in a ghastly pattern of repetition. Over and over and over again until sanity is stripped away and you start to notice shapes slipping in and out of the shadows. SERN. The second collection of Steins;Gate is now available, check out my review of it in this article.

  • Given I am located in Australia, I generally only cover anime releases that have been released by my regions anime publishers (Madman Entertainment, Siren Visual and Hanabee). This stands to be the reason why last year I only did an “Of the Year” article for Australian Anime Releases despite a number of great titles which had yet reached our shores. But given I do promote North American anime companies on this site, I have picked up a fair few titles that I don’t expect to...

  • Following their (currently) Australian-exclusive English release of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, Siren Visual felt content not to end their releases of supernatural mystery series with just that... opting to also licence and release Shiki in the region which was previously released by Funimation Entertainment in North America. To be honest I have been sitting on this series for a couple of months now since its August 2012 release after finding the first few episodes to be slow and rather dull. But as I don't generally write a review on a series without having watched every episode first after the release of the second Part I took to cramming it all in a day... and found it to be a surprisingly interesting watch.
