Get Ready for Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV This Month in Select Australian Cinemas

Next month, after years and years of waiting, Square Enix are finally set to release their long-awaited RPG Final Fantasy XV. This launch is set to be complemented by a range of tie-in media animations, some of which have been released and others are to be available in the future. One of these is the standalone animated feature film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. This is a collaboration between Square Enix and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and tells a tale surrounding King Regis and a range of other characters in the kingdom of Lucis.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is set to be available in the Deluxe and Ultimate Collector’s Edition versions of Final Fantasy XV. But you won’t need to wait until launch to watch this film, with Australian film publisher/distributor Madman Entertainment confirming that the animated film will be screening in select cinemas across Australia and New Zealand starting August 2016.

It seems like Madman Entertainment will only be screening the English version of the film, which features the voices of Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings trilogy). Cinema locations and session times have not yet been confirmed, but keep an eye out on the films official Australian website for more information in the near future.

About Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum—to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.
