Along with the announcement trailer for “The Fuka and Desco Show”, Nippon Ichi Software America also released the entire planned DLC release schedule today, with it bringing word on the second additional stories chapter “The Flashback Episode” which features a look into the past of Valvatorez and Fenrich and several other characters. With ATLUS USA announcing their acquisition of Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (Under the title: Persona 4 Arena) yesterday, there has been renewed hope that the Playstation Vita remake of Persona 4 “Persona 4: The Golden” will see an English localization very soon. Unfortunately this article is not here to deliver the happy news but instead to provide you with the Japanese release date for the Vita game. According to a recent article in Famitsu, the game is due for release on the 14th June 2012 in two currently announced editions.

The first edition is the Standard Edition which is the game in its standard package for approximately 7, 329 yen. For those who want to throw a bit more money into getting a better collection, Famitsu also announced the “Famitsu DX Pack”. Priced at 10,290 yen – the package will include 10 post cards, a pouch and six A3 sized posters featuring illustrations from a number of sources including Shigenori Soejima, Shuji Sogabe, Mad House, Studio Hibari, and Hiroyuki Maeda.

While there is nothing all that much new revealed in this trailer for Grasshopper Manufacturer’s upcoming release of Lollipop Chainsaw… who can pass up another look at the war between Cutie Zombie Hunters vs Punk Rock Zombies?

Every month or so, Nippon Ichi Software America has remained dedicated in bringing us moderately priced DLC characters, Pirate Ships and Map packs for Disgaea 4… but perhaps you were wondering when they would be releasing the DLC Chapters that were released in Japan… similar to that of Disgaea 3′s Raspberyl Chapters. Fortunately I come baring good news – with a recent announcement and trailer by NIS America announcing that the first chapter “The Fuka and Desco Show” will be available for download through the Playstation Network in May 2012.

Are you ready to get building your own RPG where your only limitation might very well be your imagination and creativity?… or for those who have previously had experience with the RPG Maker franchise… are you ready to get building or rebuilding your RPG? Over the last few months the English release of RPG Maker VX Ace has been teased with several posts being made on the games many new improvements over the original VX release – and after much anticipation, release date has been announced as:

The 15th March 2012

The core system remains similar to that of the original VX release, however several improvements have allowed a built in character customization system, the return of custom tilesets and many other features. Pre-orders for the game will begin on the 1st March from the games official website HERE, and doing so will apparently net you some unannounced discounts and “cool” bonuses.

Personally, having not dived into VX and remaining loyal to the older but (in my opinion)  more customisable RPG Maker XP, it is good to see that they have made requested improvements to bring VX more on par with XP, and will hopefully be trying it out for myself upon release.

For those who read my last article on the game about 15 minutes ago, you will be familiar with the games concept and its release date – if not, feel free to read it HERE. The 13 minute game preview posted by Japanese gaming website 4Gamer was not the only things that Compile Heart has recently released for the games pending release… but also the below bunch of screenshots which covers a variety of the games mechanics including the storyline/dialogue system, CG artwork and the yPhone systems (Mailing and Character customization for example).

Announced in the recent Nintendo Direct Broadcast was this little collaboration between Capcom, Namco Bandai and Sega for the development of an all new “Top Secret” Nintendo 3DS Game. As to if this is a completely new title or a cross-over project of some shape or form is completely unknown… in fact all but the companies involved and the console remain a complete mystery. Namco Bandai also released a teaser website for the game which can be viewed HERE, and further reiterates the games secrecy.

The only information that COULD potentially hint to what the game is about through the teaser site is the presence of petri dishes and an overall secretive science theme to it. I will have more information on the game when it is made available.

While the game is a bit different than Compile Hearts usual RPG releases, Touch Shot! Love Application is their upcoming dating sim game that comes equipped with a little twist… using an iPhone spin-off known as a yPhone, players can use an application to read the minds of the games female cast in order to better form a relationship (or asumingly… ruin a relationship) with them. The above video was shared by Japanese gaming website 4Gamer, and provides a 13 minute look at the games gameplay systems.

In other news, in a recent article by Dengeki Playstation – the game will have the inevitable DLC costume downloads which will include buruma’s and nurse outfits amongst others. These will begin being released on the 1st March 2012 for 400 yen – along with a new DLC chapter being released on the 8th March 2012 for 700 yen.

The game is due for release in Japan tomorrow exclusively for the Playstation 3. Chance of seeing it released internationally… slim.

When Square Enix released Final Fantasy XIII-2 to the market, they included a handy little recap menu which let you read a summary chapter by chapter of the original installment in the series Final Fantasy XIII. However this was just one game that was released over two years ago… the Kingdom Hearts franchise began almost 10 years ago and has since then spread itself over four consoles with numerous games.

As it is questionable as to if every fan of the franchise has played every single game, Square Enix mentioned on their game’s blog that the game would be including a Memoir system which allows you to have access to tutorials, options and more importantly – the option to get up to speed with what has happened in previous games with summaries.

The game is due for release at the end of March 2012 in Japan, with an English localization already announced for release near the end of the year by Square Enix and Namco Bandai Partners (Australia and New Zealand). Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is the next offering in the Kingdom Hearts series exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

Last week in line with the games actual release, Square Enix in Japan released a set of eight downloadable songs for their release of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, a rhythm-based Nintendo 3DS game that brings the best music from the Final Fantasy games and makes mini-games out of them. While the game comes with a sizable collection of tracks, the first set of DLC content encompasses:

1. Battle Scene I from Final Fantasy II
2. Final Battle from Final Fantasy IV
3. Seeking the Light from Final Fantasy V
4. Cosmo Canyon from Final Fantasy VII
5. Ride on from Final Fantasy VIII
6. Fighters of the Crystal from Final Fantasy IX
7. Someday the Dream Will End from Final Fantasy X
8. Fighting Fate from Final Fantasy XIII

Each song would set you back 150 yen, however to reward the early adopters of the game they have reduced the cost by 33% to 100 yen. Originally this discount was slated to run through until the 7th March however they have not extended it until the 18th April 2012. Honestly, as the game is only available in Japan I am not sure how useful this information is to you, however for the few of you who would own the game – you can take a bit more time to determine if it is worth picking up.

Other tracks will be released over the week, however these will not be included in the price reduction.

Alas, the Black Panther line of Yakuza game remains on similar terms to the Ryū ga Gotoku Kenzan! spin-off game for the Yakuza franchise… in that neither has or most probably will ever receive an English localization like the main games in the franchise. Never-the-less, it seems to be a perfect example of why Playstation Portable uptakes are still strong in Japan even with the release of the Playstation Vita… the line-up for the PSP remains promising.

Curious as to how this game will look? In a recent batch of screenshots released by SEGA, it doesn’t feature so much the core gameplay but instead the mini-games and all the other fun bits and pieces that make the Yakuza (or Ryu Ga Gotoku) line of games so unique. Slot Machines… Baseball… Dating Hostesses… Part-time jobs… Bowling… Strip Clubs… all just examples of what you can do in your free time within the game.

While there is no information on just when we will be seeing these titles and others released internationally, those with a Japan Nintendo 3DS console will be able to pick up Game Gear Virtual Console games from the 14th March 2012 at the price of 300 yen each. Currently only three titles have been announced in the recent Famitsu article, which are as follows:

• Sonic and Tails 2 (Aka. Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble)
• Shinobi
• Dragon Crystal Shirani’s Maze (Aka. Dragon Crystal)

With any luck we should be seeing a lot more of the Game Gear titles released on the Virtual Console over the coming months, and with any luck Sega will be bringing this to us internationally soon – considering that a sizable portion of the younger gaming market wouldn’t have had the chance to experience the games.
