  • Despite being rather controversial outside of Japan after Seven Seas Entertainment tried to publish it, Kaworu Watashiya’s manga series Kodomo no Jikan has been relatively successful – seeing 12 volumes currently published, two anime series, a handful of OVA episodes and a novelization in the works. According to her Twitter feed however, it seems that the manga series will be ending soon. There are no specifics as to when it will end exactly, but the December issue of Comic High! has noted it is not...

  • In the original release of Hyperdimension Neptunia, you were limited to the three “main” characters – Neptune, IF (Idea Factory) and Compa (Compile Heart) and the three console goddesses whilst Gust and Nippon Ichi Software America (Gust-chan and NISA-chan respectively) were recruited as guest characters that were not usable in battle without purchasing DLC content for somewhere around $2-3 each, which considering isn’t too costly. In Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk.2, both Gust and NISA become recruitable characters leaving Compile Heart without any DLC characters to include…....

  • As a result of my recent article debating if the Kodomo no Jikan (aka. Nymphet) manga series would be viable in todays manga market, I have been digging around looking for resources to perhaps write a follow-up article to it. However, instead I came across this which whilst an interesting fanmade trailer for a planned English dub by the group Past, Present and Future Entertainment (PPF Entertainment). While the group hasn’t released anything since early-2010 and removed many of their videos from Youtube, the above...

  • Baka Test Series 2 – Seems…..

Seems like they are starting the second season of Baka to Test to Shōkanjū (English: Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts) with a fanservice episode. Whilst I have only watched what Funimation has had up on their youtube page for the series, the driving force of the show in my opinion – the summoned beings – have no presence in this episode leaving for a rather disappointing fanservice start. Hopefully they will remember what makes this series so good and start good next episode. Currently, Funimation...

  • This morning I received an order of anime that I placed last month, and as I seem to be doing a lot more recently, looking at the trailers section of the DVD’s looking for interesting series. I acquired the DVD of the series Cosplay Complex, an old anime series released by ADV Films and it had a trailer of the series Puni Puni Poemy. The trailer is above, but isn’t it refreshing to see a trailer / series focusing on mocking censorship instead of nowadays where censorship,...

Old Anime Trailer – Best Mockery of Censorship?

  • It is Christmas time and once again, I am forced to study amongst the busy shopping centers, the millions of Christmas decorations in the house and the general festivities I have to ignore for another week until I get my few weeks of well earn freedom. However, as one exam is down for now, I believe it would be best to review something that I have been meaning to for years (Since Christmas 2008), a non-Japanese Christmas movie however by far, one of two Christmas...

Have a very Hank(y) Christmas: The Polar Express – Christmas Movie Review

  • Attack of the Prinny Waitresses!…. or not….

This image is too good to remain in the newsletter. All credits go to NIS America and their talented staff. As you may have noticed, still been a bit slow on my end, resulting in the constant streaming of  text messages from group project members asking to do this and that to finalize my last ever group project in my degree (YAY!) and a number of reports that creeped in between my gaming pile… how evil of those reports…. But I suppose there is nothing...

  • Random Thought: Yay~ Sakutarou Umineko Cover!

Whilst not up on the official website, the Animate Online Shop has the cover art for Note 12 of Umineko no Naku Koro ni up. Somehow, I have adopted Sakutarou for a lot of avatars lately, so it was good to see that he was on one of the covers. Anyway, this is as random as I plan on posting in a while. If you are interested in getting the release of Umineko (Japanese only, no current official english release) then it may be a...

  • I was sitting down this morning looking at the TV guide, since, whilst not being a big fan of many television shows, felt like spending some time on the couch watching some television. Now, back then I was a kid, I was addicted to the childrens afternoon on the ABC Channel with shows like Play School *Shudder* and animated shows like Blinky Bill which showed that there was some decent animation done in Australia, basically in comparison to now as when I looked at the...

Australia – The land of…. not much anime?

  • Whilst I personally do not really care about advertisments for anime, althrough I do occasionally browse the one or two on anime DVD’s if I want something to watch something while taking a few minutes to do something else, and despite what I just said, I suppose they did originally open me up to other series like Azumanga Daioh. Anyway, for those that do not know what Strike Witches are, it is a series about a lot of lolis and teenagers who defend the earths...
