Following their other past design compendiums such as those for Dark Souls and many Persona games – Udon Entertainment have announced they will be releasing Shovel Knight: Official Design Works in August. As its title already implies, this will be an artbook based on Yacht Club Game’s successful action-platformer Shovel Knight.
Created in close collaboration with the game’s developer, this book seeks to collect all the artwork from Shovel Knight in “one comprehensive volume”. Throughout the book, readers should expect to find “character art, developer commentary, rough illustrations and concept art, background development images, comprehensive sprite sheets, full-page promotional illustrations, and more – including an exclusive interview with the game’s development team”.
This book will be released in August 2017, with an MSRP of $39.99 USD. The book itself is 184 pages in length, and will be full-colour and softcover, coming in at 8.2×11.8″ in size.
